A.T. Still University—School of Health Management is recruiting for online adjunct faculty positions for the 2007-08 academic years. Candidates will be able to teach online courses in the areas of public health, health administration, and geriatric health to masters-level students, and health education to both masters- and doctoral-level students. Qualified candidates may be asked to develop course(s). This course will interpret results of statistical analysis found in public health studies, review epidemiology for informing scientific, ethical, economic and political discussion of health issues. The course will cover the policy process for improving the health status of populations.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must have a terminal degree (PhD, Dr.P.H.) in the field of instruction or terminal degree in another area with a minimum of 18 term credits or 12 semester credits in the field of instruction at the graduate level. All degree granting schools that are recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of education (USDE) or both will be reviewed. Successful candidates should embrace a student-centered education philosophy.

Responsibilities

Online adjunct Faculty will be responsible for the following:

· Teaching ten-week online courses in the field of instruction

· Communicating daily with enrolled students and actively participating in course activities (discussions, mail, and office hours to name a few)

· Facilitating the course to achieve course objectives and student competencies

· Evaluating students’ academic performance

· Identifying and communicating with at-risk students enrolled in course

· Participating in faculty activities including faculty meetings and training.
